My Musings

What Ills Our Beloved Nation?????

Kenya is really having a beating this year. First it was the drought which led to famine in many parts of the country. We then had the Sinai fire disaster which resulted to death of many innocent citizens. Then there were the Lamu kidnappings which have threatened one of our major foreign exchange earners. Talking of foreign exchange, the shilling has gone to the dogs with its value depreciating day by day against the major foreign currencies. Somewhere in the middle of all this we lost our very own iconic environmentalist, Professor Wangari Maathai. Deaths due to road accidents have since stopped being breaking news but are now more or less a normal occurrence. With all this I pose to ask, who is to blame for all these? Kenyans are known to be religious person so why is it that we are faced with so many bad happenings. As the year draws to a close we surely need to do some serious soul searching. We need to reflect on our past to see where we may have gone wrong.
